IRVINE, Calif. (WKRC) – A man was taken into custody after authorities allegedly discovered “funny money,” a stolen license plate and stolen mail during a traffic stop.
The Irvine Police Department posted a statement to Instagram last Saturday regarding the arrest of 23-year-old Dayner Chacon Lara of Santa Ana, California.
“Albert Einstein said, ‘Intellectuals solve problems. Geniuses prevent them,'” authorities wrote. “Last night, Dayner Chacon Lara, 23, from Santa Ana, learned our officers are pros at solving problems and separating fact from fiction.”
According to the post, Lara allegedly handed authorities a fake driver’s license, but the officers were quickly able to determine not only his real name, but the fact that he didn’t have a driver’s license at all.
During a search of the vehicle, police found “funny money, a stolen license plate, and mail belonging to multiple other people,” authorities wrote.
